GAAP accounting for growing companies

Books you can trace to the penny.

Parcelyn runs your ledger, sales, purchasing, inventory and banking in one place. Every number on every report links back to the invoice, bill or payment that caused it.

The whole back office, on one ledger.

No exports to a separate accounting tool and no re-keying. Selling, buying and stocking post straight to the books as they happen.

The books

A chart of accounts numbered your way, a general ledger with manual, reversing and recurring entries, budgets, and month and year closes.

Selling

Estimate to sales order, shipment, invoice and payment, with credit memos, write-offs and customer statements.

Buying

Purchase order to receipt, bill and payment. Upload a vendor's bill and AI reads it into a draft for you to check.

Inventory

Stock across warehouses with lot and serial numbers, valued by standard cost, average cost or first-in-first-out.

Cash and bank

Import statements, match them to what's in the books, move money between accounts and reconcile each month.

Reports

Trial balance, income statement, balance sheet, cash flow and agings, straight from the ledger, plus a KPI dashboard on the home page.

Bookkeeping rules your accountant will recognize.

Parcelyn follows US GAAP from the first entry, so your year-end close is a review and not a cleanup.

01

Every entry balances

Debits equal credits on every entry, or it won't save. No suspense account full of guesses.

02

Posted means permanent

Posted entries, invoices and bills are never edited or deleted. Mistakes are reversed, so the history shows what happened and when.

03

Closed periods stay closed

Close a month and posting into it stops. Lock it and nothing can change it again, including last year's numbers after you've filed.

04

Accrual basis, done right

Revenue when it's earned and expenses when they're owed, with deferred revenue, auto-reversing accruals and foreign currency revaluation at month end.

Click any number to see where it came from.

A balance on a report opens the account's ledger, a ledger line opens the entry, and the entry opens the document that posted it. Voiding a document posts a reversal that links back too.

  • Ledger checks prove the books agree with themselves
  • Who created and posted each entry, and when
  • Todos with @mentions on any entry; a blocking one holds up the close

Give each person exactly the access their job needs.

Roles are a simple grid: each area of the books down the side, and create, read, update, delete, post, void and close across the top. Start from Owner, Accountant, Bookkeeper and Viewer, then shape your own.

Several companies and currencies, kept apart.
